XL750 and Lee Dies

Bought a Dillon XL750 and got it quicker than expected actually minus the dies (9mm). They are backordered and was wondering if Lee 4 piece Die set will work? I'm new obviously and know the DIllon ones ordered are 3 piece die set. If Lee's Dies work in the Dillon, how do you configure them in the reloader, do you leave one of the Lee Dies out, etc? Trying to learn, what not to do and was looking for some help. Appreciate your time.

RE: XL750 and Lee Dies

I have loaded over 15k rounds of 9mm on the 750 with Lee dies.
I use the sizing/decap die, Lee seating die, and the Lee FCD.
Use the Dillon lock nuts because they are thinner than the Lee lock nut.
Because you will use the Dillon powder measure there is no use for the Lee powder through die.
I have a set of Dillon dies but the Lee work fine.

My setup is as follows:
Station #1 Lee sizing/decap die
#2. Dillon expanding powder die
#3. Mr bulletfeeder bullet drop die OR Dillon powder check die
#4. Lee seating die
#5. Lee FCD

Now on Station 2 can I use the Lee Expander die with the Dillon Powder Feed on the 750? I won't have the Lee until tomorrow and don't have the Dillon at all at present time. Ty for your time and explanation.

I apologize, I had NOT opened the XL750 yet since I hadn't gotten dies, so I didn't realize the Powder measure has a die on it, so that's station 2 correct? I thought it was part of the dies that are back ordered.

You will be good to go. The powder measure and powder die are in the basic press box. Have fun with it.

Your XL 750 will produce great ammo with the Lee dies I've been running the same set up as you for the last 18 months. The only change I've made to mine is installing a Mr. Bullet feeder and UFO light to speed up production. Be advised that your press must be mounted to a solid surface that wont move or flex or you will have issues.
Good luck with your new Dillon press I have three the oldest is almost 30 years old and still makes precision ammo.
