Which Dillon Reloader is needed for .45-70 Caliber?

Hi,

I'm new to this Forum.

Looking to buy reloader system, but do not want to make a mistake, as budget is leading factor in decision.

I know I need different dies for each caliber of pistol & rifle, but I need to know if the used 550B model I am considering, is enough for all these calibers:

9mm - Browning 7.62mm - .357 - .40 - .223/5.56mm - .270 cal - 30.06 cal & .45-70 - that's all for now.

Or, do I need to step up to a higher model?
Such as 650/750

Really appreciate your knowledge share.

Best regards,

The short direct answer is that the 550 will easily handle the reloading chores for each caliber you identified. I reload ammo as small as .380, as long as 30-06 and as large in diameter as 45 Colt and 45 acp.
The biggest differences between the 550 and the 650/750 is that the 550 requires the operator to manually advance the shell plate, while the 650/750 have an automatic index feature.
Welcome to the Dillon community, a really nice bunch of folks who enjoy making ammo and helping other Dillon folks when broken or out of adjustment issues arise.

Hi,

Thanks so much for confirming the 550 will work for all identified calibers.

I should have got into this long ago, but never thought things would get as nuts as they are right now, & will be for the next at least 4 years.

All the sharks & mercenaries are actively swimming about taking advantage of everyone & everything, going on.

Thinking I'm jumping in & biting the bullet, is best thing to do in light of cost & availability of ammo ready to go.

Appreciate your confirmation of my question.

Best regards
