shot dropping on shellplate

Ive just about got this 900 running as I expect that it can with one problem I cant solve. When a full stroke downward is made the shot bar travels its full forward motion and drops shot. On the up stroke the shot bar does not begin its rearward motion until a little over half way up on the upstroke. When the shotbar does finally begin to move rearward on its way back to pick up more shot for the next sequence it is a quick let go as if it is hung up slightly. When it finally does let go it drops 3 or 4 more pellets of shot as soon as it begins it rearward motion. Only problem is by the time it begins to move the shell plate has begun to move the shell to the precrimp station and the 3 or 4 pellets ends up on the shell plate. This happens everytime. Over time I have thousands of pellets everywhere. Any fixes??

RE: shot dropping on shellplate

Check the black rubber wipe in the top  of the shot dispenser. It sounds like it is either missing or damaged. Next, check the tension on the blue wing nut at the bottom of the failsafe return rod. With the handle pushed forward, as if seating a primer, the blue wing nut should be tight enough that the coil spring above it is partially compressed.

RE: shot dropping on shellplate

I have drained all the shot and am looking down into the shotdispenser and into the shotbar itself. I do not see anything that resembles black rubber. I do however think I may have found the issue. Again I could use your help. Explaining it the best I can. As I look down into the empty shot bar there is a hole in the bar that the shot fills to eventually drop out as the bar travels forward. Again looking down into the shot bar their is a ledge of metal in the right hand upper corner of the shotbar while it stands in neutral. The ledge is large enough to hold the 3 or 4 pellets of shot in question. As the shot bar moves forward it drops your measured shot in the hull. on the upstroke the bar begins to move rearward and in doing so the 3 0r 4 pellets balanced on the ledge I described are knocked forward and down the shot funnell in just enough time to fall on the shell plate. Any ideas on a fix??

Forgot to respond to the failsafe rod in the first post. It does compress to half its normal size on the up stroke.

You have to make hole in 16725 (where the 16726 starts) oval shape (the bar goes ower hole and some shot stays there untill bar starts going back and it drops them). Use dremel and make a ramp so there is no plase for shots to stay
