Shell plate not clearing primer

Hello again,

I recently switched from 9mm to 223 on my 550c. I started with 9mm and 223 is the second caliber. Once I switched and got every thing all setup and ready to load I tried to start loading on station #1 but the primer gets caught up on the shell plate. If I slightly raise the ram it will clear, but that is far too tedious. How can I fix this? I didnt have problems with cci small pistol primers. The rifle primers I'm using are Winchester small rifle. How do I fix this? Here are some pics:

Thank you in advance.

RE: Shell plate not clearing primer

When you are actually loading progressively on the machine, there is never a primer in the primer cup when you index the shellplate. The primer has just been seated into the case, so the primer cup is empty when you advance the shellplate.

You are correct. Sorry. I was trimming for 4 to 5 hours before I wrote this, so I was a little burnt out.

With that being said, is what I am experiencing normal for this machine?

Cant wait to start loading bottleneck stuff!

RE: Shell plate not clearing primer

Yes, this is common. Usually the anvils sit higher than handgun primers for safer transport. No worries.
