Rotation plate encounters primer

Hoping for some ideas regarding the alignment of my 550L. When hand rotating the shell plate, it encounters the primer and will not proceed until I pull the handle slightly which allows clearance. I'm sure it is something simple, but looking over the diagram, I am not sure where I can make that adjustment.

RE: Rotation plate encounters primer

There should not be a primer in the cup. Remove it and put it back in it's container. Then operate the press, it should run fine.

RE: Rotation plate encounters primer

If the shell plate is hitting the primer but does not hit the primer cup, there is something amiss in the assembly of the primer slide assembly. The top of the primer should be just about exactly level with the top of the cup.

Remove the primer assembly, to get the slide out. Remove the set screw that retains the primer cup parts, clean 'em, and reassemble. Possibly a piece of spent primer or tumble media somehow interfering with the cup/spring/punch.
