RL550 index sprocket can’t clear ejector wire.

Hi there. I have had zero issues switching between calibers for two years, but lately this has happened. When putting my 9mm caliber conversion back, I can’t seem to get the index star set up tight enough. Let me explain. If I tighten it sufficiently, the index star goes underneath the ejector wire , preventing it from turning. If I loosen it to the point that it can clear the ejector wire , its too loose, shells are then skew. This happened recently after I got a case stuck when loading 223. What could I have damaged. The side bolt works fine.

It may have been that when you were clearing the stuck case you raised the ejector wire up. It is tight but it will move up and down in it's holes. A slight squeeze at the vertical posts and it will move easier. The top of the ejectors on both of my RL550's are .340 on a dial caliper.

Perfect thanks for your help, took me a minute to sort it out. I did not know it was a spring that could move

I know this is a dated post, but demonstrating the forum’s value, I used it today to resolve the same issue. I did not know the ejector spring lifted, or that I had somehow raised it. And thanks to RMOSER38 for providing the answer!
