RL300 Parts and Manual

I recently picked up a RL300 in a bulk buy and it is missing some pieces. Where can I get replacements parts and a user manual for this machine? I know it is missing the indexing arm but I'm not sure what else it needs. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

RE: RL300 Parts and Manual

I purchased a new primer magazine to try and make work. I noticed that the plastic flange fit right into the base hole except it was too long. I cut it down to fit flush with the primer throw arm and it seems to be working okay. I'm still waiting for the primer shield to arrive via USPS and I'm hoping it will slide over this magazine and hold it all together. I guess it's a trial and error puzzle to make the new work with the old. Otherwise I'll have to find a machinist to turn one down for me.

Also, i have a shell plate that has no markings on it. 40 S&W fits perfectly in it with the number 2 locator pins so I assumed it was a #5 shell plate. However, 9mm slides right out of it when used with the #3 locator pins. Someone suggested that it might be a #W shell plate but i dont see one listed. Do you have any idea as to what shell plate I have?

See if a 38 Special or 357 case fits into it. It sounds like a #2 shellplate.

357 fits perfectly into it.

RE: RL300 Parts and Manual

final question... I hope. LOL Will the low primer alarm work with the old 300 primer shield and magazine? What I have coming to me does not include a primer shield cap. Not even sure if the 300 came with one.

Not without modification. THe RL300 never had a knurled cap, and the primer shield tube is smaller in diameter that that of the RL550 machines. I'm sure you can wrap tape around the top of the tube to increase the O.D. so the low primer alarm stays straight.

I guess I'll order one and see what I can do. I sure could use a large primer slide arm for it too. If I could attach a photo I'd post it. It's back up and running with the small primer system.

Summarizing the modernization: I found a brass tube that fit perfectly into the low primer alarm and over blast shield, making a second blast shield if you will. I cut it to the same length and the low primer alarm works perfect. I also added an auto powder measure modified to work without the failsafe rod freeing up one of the manual stations.

My search continues for a large primer slide arm.

Thank you for all of your help in reviving this old relic. It's been a fun project.
