RCBS dies

Here's an easy one for you Dillon vets... I'm using a few RCBS dies in my 550B. I understand (I think) that when loading .44 Magnum I have to use a spacer ring on my seating/crimping die. Right? And is that the only die that needs the spacer ring?

RE: RCBS dies

You only need the spacer ring IF you are also loading .44Spl with the same dies. Then you will need the spacer for seat/crimp dies and should not have to re-adjust them as long as you use the same bullet in both. You will have to readjust the powder die for mouth belling if you load for both.

One thing to consider is that if you are using lock rings that lock onto the die the spacer will work. If using rings like Dillon's 1" rings then you will lose your settings each time you remove or insert a spacer.
