Problem Loading 9 mm Luger

I am getting my Square Deal B set up to load 9 mm Luger. I have everything pretty well set EXCEPT the crimp. I have heard that in some cases the 9 mm doesn't need any crimp or very little. I have adjusted the taper crimp little by little and the round falls easily into the case gauge. When I try the round in the barrel of my S&W M&P 9 mm sub compact it does not seat like the factory ammo does and the slide will not got all the way forward. I am using Better Bullets, 115 grain, round nose bullets with Starline Brass. The factory round has a .474 crimp and an overall length of1.262 and my reload has a .476 crimp and an overall length of 1.255 length.

Your cartridge overall length is too long. I.169" is absolute maximum for 9mm Luger. You may need to seat them .010" shorter than that, due to ogive variations in the bullets.
