Powder Measure bellcrank cube popping out

I use the Fail Safe system on my RL330 and once in a while the Bellcrank cube pops out of the cut-out in the powder bar. Is there a simple fix - like slight increase in the bellcrank arm to hold the cube more tightly into the slot?

If I catch it right away, it's easy but when I don't know WHERE it popped out, it has meant having to unload more than 100 loaded rounds.

Anybody else have this? Need a cube with sharper corners?

Are you using the old one piece bell crank or the new two piece bell crank? I had that problem with the older one piece. Every once in a while the mount bolt would loosen up causing the cube to pop out. I ended up putting a little grease under the washer on the bolt so the tension wouldn't loosen the bolt. If it has been happening a lot the cube could be worn on the edges too. The cube can be spun or flipped to find good edges or if they are all worn contact Dillon and they will send you new ones. The newer bell crank uses a through bolt with a lock nut so it doesn't back out.

The newer style allows for adjustments just by tightening the nut. Not too tight but enough too keep it from popping out.

Well - I called Dillon and described it. I have had my 550 since upgrading from the 450. When I upgraded to the Fail Safe, the old powder measure had the shallow-depth shoulder bolt. Turns out that was what was loosening and the threaded hole had literally wobbled loose. No way to tighten the bellcrank pivot bolt.

Dillon Support said to send it in, they'd have a look. I wanted to just pay for the parts since this press was new back when the Grand Canyon was just a ditch.

I sent it in on Thursday - they shipped me a BRAND NEW powder measure with Fail Safe attachments - must have shipped it the very same day because it just landed at my doorstep.

Back to my 45 ACP, 9mm, 308!

Forgot to give serious KUDOS to Dillon for their technical support. I've had this beast for 3 decades now and DID NOT EXPECT this level of service.

All the more reason to recommend Dillon to friends.
