Powder Mearure movement is rotating the Powder Die

I have an older SDB, the one with the 2 coil springs on the automatic powder system and am experiencing a couple of issues.

I am currently loading 45 acp and am having a problem of the expander/powder die rotating with the movement of the powder system, causing the cartridge bell to increase.  The clamp screw for the powder die ring clamp is tighten as far as it will go, but the die continues to rotate.  Additionally, occasionally the entire powder system will hang up on the down stroke, not allowing the shellplate to rotate properly.  A nudge of the powder system will allow cycling to continue.

I have ordered and am waiting on the backorder delivery of a new collar sleeve for the body collar, in hopes that this will allow the powder system to move smoothly once again and no longer bind on the down stroke.  However, if there is some other adjustment or something else that I need to look at replacing, I would appreciate input.

As to the rotation of the powder dies, any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

Thanks.

I had something similar happen to me and I just tightened the two collar screws and have since not moved.

RE: Powder Mearure movement is rotating the Powder Die

Found the cause and answer to my issue.

It turns out that the failsafe rod was not properly adjusted, so was moving the powder measure from side to side which caused the die to rotate out of position.  Once the rod was set correctly, the measure stayed put when operating the reloader.  This also took care of the occasional hang on the down stroke.

The powder die ring clamp still had to be tightened a bit more.  I was concerned about over tightening, but nothing stripped so I am in the clear.
