Optimum bench top dimensions ?

What are the optimum top dimensions for a reloading bench ?

How much space to the left and right of the press ?

Optimum space behind the press ?

OPtimum is as much room as you can get, as the areas tend to be used to store components, additional toolheads, etc. Minimum would be 15" to the right and left, so you can set up a powder scale, primer flip tray, box of projectiles. Behind it is less critical, but at least 12"

RE: Optimum bench top dimensions ?

Need to REPHRASE the question. Looking at a XL750 and eventually....if not when ordered, the Case Feeder Bowl.

Will have a 30" wide work bench. Question is the depth. Will 19 1/4" WORK OK. Prefer 24" from the other posts....but 19 1/4" looks like the most promising as I have some base cabinets that are sturdy and will work.

Thanks

RE: Optimum bench top dimensions ?

I don’t know what “optimum” is but I can tell you what it’s not.....it’s not what I’m getting with my current bench surface. It’s 4’ wide x 2’ deep...with shelves in the rear.

Onto this rather expansive real estate I am trying to mount a 750 and 550, both on tall Ultramounts.

Not much room leftover for other stuff.

Fun times.

Just glad this is a temporary setup until we move.
