Lubing the SD

So I've been removing the link arms and lubing the bushing and link arm bearing (new brass/bronze) one with 90 weight gear oil on both the link arm inside diameter and the bearing inside diameter, about every 4 months or so, loading about 1,200 rounds a month. But I got to thinking, would it be a good idea to drill and tap the link arm, for Zerk fittings so it could be greased? Also does the bearing rotate with the link arm, or rotate about the lugs on the press body? Seems like the wear is on the lugs.

RE: Lubing the SD

We recommend using an automotive grease on both the inside and outside of the brass link arm bearings. The link arms detach so easily that adding a zerk fitting is overkill. Additionally, the inside of the bearing requires grease to prevent it from galling onto the frame.
