Cleaning Primer Tubes

Oct 5th, 2016

Like all of your reloading equipment your primer tubes need an occasional cleaning.  We recommend cleaning after every couple of thousand primers through each tube.  Please follow these steps:

  • Push a small cloth patch wet with alcohol through the primer tubes.
  • Use the plastic follower rod to push the patch through several times.
  • An out of round primer can get jammed into the tube.
    • If gentle pressure on the plastic follower rod doesn't clear it, then spray WD-40 into the tube.
    • Bend it and throw it away.
    • Then contact us for a replacement tube.
