RT1200 versus RT1500

Oct 3rd, 2016
If you have an RT1200 and are considering "upgrading" to the RT1500, please take note of the following points before making your decision.
  • The RT1500 is "beefier" specifically because quite a few customers wanted to use the RT1200 to shorten 223 into 300 Blackout.
  • The RT1200 is suitable for removing .025" of brass from the case mouth, and will do so for years.
  • Using the RT1200 to shorten 223 into 300 BLK will cause an RT1200 to quit running in 50,000 cases or less, as almost .500" is being removed.
  • Additionally, the brass being cut is thicker in the body than the neck putting much greater pressure on the bearings.
