Early Warning primer system

Just received my replacement Early Warning System... the old (at least twenty years), Blue plastic housing cracked where it tensions. Just some feed-back to Dillon, the old system had a buzzer that was well within my hearing range. The new one however, has a high-pitched "squeal" that as an old shooter with nerve damage, high frequency hearing loss, I cannot hear unless I put my ear against it.

I am sure that many Dillon users are in the same boat as I due to hearing loss due to shooting over a long period of time. It seems like the oldsters would be better served if Dillon would go back to the lower frequency warning buzzer rather than the currently provided high-pitched "squealer".

RE: Early Warning primer system

I just took mine apart– I'm not sure how old it is, maybe ten or twelve years? There is a battery, a microswitch, and a self-contained buzzer– a KPX-1205A that is supposed to output 500 Hz but mine seems a little higher, maybe 625 Hz-ish. Maybe you could take-apart your old one and if it also has a self-contained buzzer, you could replace the new buzzer with the old one by unsoldering and re-soldering the two wires!
