Dillon 550/RCBS 3 die 45 Auto set

I'm trying to get my new 550 up and running. I think station 1 is for resizing/depriming, station 2 is for flare/powder. I'm using my 3 die RCBS set and the first die just resizes, the second die decaps and expands the mouth. So if I have it in station 1 it will still have the old primer in.

Do I need to decap every piece of brass first so I can use my resize die?

I suggest you either update your dies, or contact RCBS and obtain a depriming assembly to fit your size die. Otherwise you will need to deprime your cases in preparation for reloading.

Yep, I bought this set before RCBS offered progressive presses, probably 1982 or so. They are sending me the parts to update it. But....I'm going to buy a new Dillon set anyway. I seen a YouTube video where a guy is comparing a Dillon 45 set against a Lee set and said the Dillon set was $100 more than Lee. The Dillon set is only $66, how could this be $100 more? I just want to make sure I get the right set. Thanks!

.45 acp set stock number 14040 $69.95.
Do you have the correct shell plate? If you purchased your 550B/550C fora different caliber then you may need conversion kit #20126 ($46.95).
