Chicago and Preckwinkle's folly.

Alderman Preckwinkle of Chicago has backed off of the proposal to levy a tax on each bullet sld but still wants to levy a $25.00 charge on each firearm sold in cCook county. Here we are again with legal fireaerm owners being charged for the fiscal irresponsibility of the the city.Preckwinkcle needs to go back to the drawing board and perhaps levy a fee on bicyclesm motor scooter or archery equipment. those will make as big an impact on the mortality of the citizens of the State of Chicago. We on the outside of the State of Chicago can take care of our selves (the State of Illinois).

RE: Chicago and Preckwinkle's folly.

Perhaps you need to initiate a law like the Vermont tax/fine that is proposed to be levied on non-gun owners. The concept is that non-gun owners cost more for the government to "protect" because they are not capable of protecting themselves. Since they are not taking steps to provide for their own self preservation, non-gun owners rely more on government resources, so they should pay more to the government for that service. Sounds like a GREAT idea to me!
