Cases Sticking to Powder Funnel

Hello All...I have tried absolutely everything suggested in the Help Guides and by tech support and this problem simply will not go away.  Cases (9mm) continue to stick to the powder funnel.  It seems that the powder funnel is too large for the sized cases...is that possible..these things really stick.

Any additional help would be greatly appreciated.  I really want to enjoy using this press, but this issue will not go away.

Thanks ...Aaron

Are you lubing your cases ? I know that the dies are supposedly unnecessary to lube but I had cases sticking and once I started lightly lubing with "one shot" the problem disappeared .

RE: Cases Sticking to Powder Funnel

Like many of you, had this problem after I started cleaning the cases "too well" (switched from dry to wet). Read through tons on these postings. The sticking was so bad, I was pushing harder to unstick then to press in the primers at the end of the stroke. Sorry, I am not going to clean the powder funnel every 50 cases. Spraying lube every group of shells - last ditch effort. I liked the posting from the person who went to machine shop because his old funnels were smaller. I don't have easy access to a machine shop but I did have a drill press and used 100, then 180, then 220. Then I polished to a high gloss with bench polisher. I kept sanding until I could take several sized cases and barely squeeze with a lot of hand force. Then polished. I did not have to take much off. I just did 500+ cases that were super clean and no issues with sticking. I will do another 500+ tomorrow and don't expect any issues. Station #2 does not have to be as precise as Station #01 (sizing). It was a pleasure to reload without having to wrestle or wonder if I sprayed enough lube or sprayed at all.

RE: Cases Sticking to Powder Funnel

Here I am ten years later with same problem with 9mm brass sticking on powder funnel in Station 2. It is an aggravating problem. Dillon 550b works great with 45 reloads. Have determined the 9mm case when resized in station 1 is tight fit for the powder funnel. A test I have done is taking cleaned brass and inserting on funnel die by hand. Case goes on easy. After running it through the resizing die the case is a tight fit to powder funnel. Because of this tight fit, the 9mm tend to stick very tight. If the resizing die is correct and it is a Dillon, then the powder funnel is to large in diameter. Do not think this problem is affected by depth of bell. Have had same problem with a Lee die in station 1. The lee has functioned as good as the Dillon die. Thinking of trying to reduce size of or sand and polish the powder funnel. Any thoughts about this will be appreciated.

Make sure you're using the 'F' powder funnel and not the 'D' powder funnel, which is for .357 Magnum and .38 Special and is .002" larger.

Otherwise, the Mr. Bulletfeeder powder funnels have a shorter flaring section and are said to not be as "sticky." www.cedhk.com/mr-bulletfeeder-powder-funnel

Or maybe not. The Mr. Bulletfeeder powder funnels are advertised to be for 9mm and 38 Special. 9mm bullets are .355" and 38 Special bullets measure .357". One of the reviews mentioned the funnel sticking, also...
