Case Feeder With Primed Brass?

I am still thinking about a case feeder for one of my 550B presses. I decided to dedicate one to rifle and the original one to pistol loading.

I have had problems with de priming and priming on my press ever since I purchased it new. 1 out of 100 or so would either flip the primer or sometimes they would end up in sideways and still others there would be no primer in a single round. (That makes a mess of the press with the powder getting on and under the shell plate. Then I purchased a wet tumbler with the steel pins and it just does a great job cleaning brass. Looks like new. So with that process I needed to de prime the brass before cleaning so I now use a single stage press to de prime. (keeps the Dillon much cleaner). I had a lot of problems priming some range brass in 223, so much that I tried a hand primer and I just love how it works so now the last stage of preparing my brass is priming it.

There is a point to all this, Can I put primed brass in the Dillon case feeder? I had held off getting a case feeder because it would not work on rifle on the 550 but with a seperate press for pistol it would work for me.

Thank you for your replys.

RE: Case Feeder With Primed Brass?

No problems or safety issue to worry about when feeding primed cases using the electric case feeder. They feed just fine.

"Can I put primed brass in the Dillon case feeder?"

Yes you can. There is no difference between the case feeder placing brass at station one or if you place it there manually.
