.45 ACP Powder Funnel Issues

I'm having an issue with my powder funnel sticking in cases.  I have tried all of the suggestions in the FAQ section and everything I can find on this forum.  It appears that the sizing die may be making the case diameter too small?  I was unable to adjust the die so that the powder slide reaches full travel when the handle reaches the bottom of its stroke because the powder funnel doesn't enter the case until there is significant pressure applied to it.  This causes the powder slide to reach full travel about half way down the handle stroke.  I ended up just adjusting the die to give the correct case flare, but the up stroke is quite difficult with the powder funnel sticking in the cases.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan

With new brass, or brass cleaned in liquid, this is not uncommon. The carbon on the inside lubes the funnel. With new brass, it helps to tumble it and deburr the case mouth. Also, iuse steel wool or scotchbrite pad to wipe off the end of the funnel periodically, preventing brass buildup on it.

RE: .45 ACP Powder Funnel Issues

That is good info to know. I recently started case cleaning with stainless steel pins and the cases look new but  the 45 cases sure do stick. Usually on a Dillon press if you have to exert force to reload  you're doing something wrong.

Good to know I'm not doing anything wrong.

Thanks
