45-70 case feed jams

I am currently using the Large Rifle plate for the automatic case feeder for my 45-70 loads. The cartridges load in the slots with plenty of room and if they load in with the Rim first they fall into the case feed funnel just fine. If they load into the slot with the mouth first, once they pass through the opening where they fall, the Rim of the shell will start to fall and then the Large Rifle plate will hit the case and jam before it falls/enters the funnel completely. This is with the case feeder on slow, if I put it on fast the cases never even attempt to fall into the funnel. I would buy the Magnum case feed plate if it works but at $50 its a gamble(I don't want two cases to try and feed at the same time) plus dillons site says the large rifle plate is the correct one for 45-70. Any suggestions?

RE: 45-70 case feed jams

Sorry, no definitive answer here, but in the comments section of the YouTube link I posted in response to the 300BLK case feed thread, someone mentioned moving the metal clip over a bit. Might be worth a try? I know it's a rimmed case, so who knows. Maybe they'll all go in backward...

The case feeder isn't terribly imaginative like the various bullet feeders on the market. Check out some of those in action and see if you don't get some ideas. Good luck, and please report back!
