primer shell plate contact
Hi Folks, Total new guy here, setting up and using 550B for the first time with a .223 setup. I experienced something that may well be normal operation, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. If I have primers loaded (small rifle) but don't put a case in the first station, when I rotate the shell plate, the plate hits the primer in the cup and will not advance. When the station is occupied and I seat the primer, then things work fine and there is no contact? Thanks for you help. Terry

This is normal. The machine is meant to operated with cases in all the stations, which means there isn't a primer in the pocket when the shellplate is rotated.
Thanks for your quick response, I thought that might be the case, but just wanted to be sure. Terry
Just make sure you pull back on the handle a little to the neutral position. You will get the feel of it the more you use your machine.
Just a little trick for your powder drop with 223 hang a piece of unscented dryer sheet in the tube then fill with powder it will take the static charge out and let the powder drop more freely.
