Due to the costs of shipping to Alaska, our computer cannot provide on-line shipping charges. The information retrieval will not allow you to put in the credit card information as this portion is not secured. this might be something we change down the road. For now, we will e-mail you a quote for the order, plus the least expensive shipping method. Then you can fax, phone or e-mail your credit card information to us, using multiple e-mails if you wish.

Hello everyone - I want to get started in reloading for pistol loads and some rifle calibers. Looks like there are several systems to choose from. Can any of the more experienced reloaders recommend the best all around reloader to get started with? Also, what accessories would I need for a complete set up?
Thanks ...

In reply to above post
Dillon,
For example, if I was looking for a extra powder measure for a 550/650. Like it is now, you have to click on "Reloading Machine Accessories" and then click through 4 or 5 pages to find it.
It would be great to maybe click on "Reloading Machine Accessories" which would take you to a Sub Menu (text only) of items listed within that category such as Powder Measures, Bullet Pullers, Pick up Tubes, etc.. Then you could click on for example Powder Measures which would take you to all Powder Measures.
Just a thought, it's no biggie at all. I think the new site is a huge improvement.
Thanks again.

Hello:
I have the RL 550B. I've had it for a while. I usually put together 9mm, 40, and 45 ACP. Here within the last few months I've had a problem that I can't seem to correct. After I clean the primer bar and put everything back together and I get it adjusted so it will pick up a fresh primer, after about 10-15 reloads it stops working properly. It either will not pick up a new primer or it will not return the primer to be inserted into the case. It hangs. If I adjust it so that it no longer hangs, it will not pick up a primer and I have to manually pull it back to do so. Even that does not always work. I have gone back through the manual and it isn't much help. The video either. Is there something I'm missing or too dumb to figure out? If I tighten the two screws beneath the bar it hangs. If I loosen them so it works, it does for about 10-15 rounds then I've got to go through the whole scenario again of tightening and loosening. I just can't keep it working very long. Any suggestions???
Prior to about 6 months ago, it was a wonderful press, and has been since I bought it a few years ago. But this is driving me up the wall. It has turned into a single stage press for me.

If you have dial calipers, take the primer slide off and measure from the underside of the primer slide to the top of the cup. It should measure1.215"-1.220". IF too tall, use a clamp or vise to fully reseat the cup & punch, then retighten the set screw.
Next, do you scrub the top of the frame and bottom of the primer slide with steel wool or scotchbrite pad when you clean it? After scrubbing, wipe off those surfaces with solvent.

Ray.
Check to see if the primer cup is deformed or mis-shapen. Also the punch that the cup rides on may be bent if a primer got caught in front of the slide before it got fully returned and the press was returned to "home" position and it got "tweaked".
I just did that to mine again so both of the above are in need of replacing so I just ordered a spare parts kit to replace them. AND, I just read about replacing the cotter key on the primer catch door in another thread as that is the problem that caused this problem..
Had my 550 for about 3 years with a LOT of .40, .45 and .357 through it and this is the only problem I've had with it.
Nice Forum you have here Dillon. Many thanks again.
