Santa brought me one of the Dillon Range Bag for Christmas . Now I have a stupid question ..Concerns the front add on bag , the one that has the Dillon logo and ID holder on it

There is a zippered compartment as well . On this bag , just below the zipper and running about 8 inches the front appears to be slashed open. Is this on all the bags ,? It looks like someone cut it with a utility knife. The cut certainly isn't straight or seamed , loose threads and all .
What to do? I thought I check here before calling ?? i
