I am thinking of loading 38 spec plated round nose 147 grain bullets with no cannelure. I have the Dillon 38 special die set I bought last fall. Is the lack of a bullet cannelure a problem? Thanks

Not a problem at all. Adjust the crimp die so it only gets the flare out of the case, not to curl the case mouth into the bullet.

I load plated bullets in 38 special all the time, it's not a problem. Just play with your roll crimp so it's tight enough but not too tight, you don't want to pierce the plating with a heavy roll crimp. You basically want the crimp to make the brass to copper plate feel smooth when you slide a finger along it, without denting the bullet.
