I hope this is the right place for this... I didn't want to put it in both the 550 and 650 categories.
I'm kinda torn between the 550 and 650 machines. Any advice or shared experience would be appreciated. I'll primarily be reloading .45 ACP, but there's also going to be .223, .40S&W, and a distinct possibility of .308, if I ever get that FAL built.
Bottom line question: While the bare-bones prices are similar, I assume I'll need a casefeeder to get the most efficiency out of the 650, correct? Is there anything else I'm missing in that equation? (I assume I'll need more primer magazines, toolheads, etc for either reloader.) Does it make sense to start with a 650, then add the casefeeder later?
Also, what's your experience with ease of use, need for adjustment, etc of the reloaders you've used? I've reloaded before, but I'd rather go with the simpler and slower machine than have to make a ton of adjustments every time I reload, if that makes any sense.

ONE OF THE THINGS I LIKE ABOUT THE RL550B IS THE MANUAL INDEXING.
IF I NEED TO BACK UP I CAN (IF I MAKE A "BOO-BOO"). THE AUTO INDEXING ON THE OTHERS PREVENTS THIS (I THINK). I'VE BEEN A USER SINCE ABOUT 1999 WHEN I STARTED WITH THE 450B.
I ASSURE YOU, YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH WHATEVER DECISION YOU MAKE.

I STAND CORRECTED ON THE AUTO INDEXING FEATURE. I JUST FOUND THAT THAT CAN BE DISABLED.
SO MY STATEMENT STANDS. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH WHATEVER DECISION YOU MAKE.

Woody,
I currently own three 550Bs, and I trully love them, I have them set up for small primer pistol, large primer pistol & rifle. I like the features of the 650, but I'll have to admit that the 550 is a much simpler machine to use and set up. I average about 400 to 450 rounds (pistol) per hour, I take my time while reloading and this is fast enough for me. Do your research, visit a retailer if you have one in your area and check both machines out. I hope this helps. Merry Christmas and Happy New year to you!
