RL 550B Mounting

I am new to reloading and I am going to purchase a RL550B (just getting my work area organized) and wanted to know if 3/4 particle board and metal plating to reinforce is OK to mount the strong mount?

I don't know whether it is strong enough or not but I used a 4x8 sheet of 5/8" plywood cut in half lengthwise and screwed together to the wood frame. Therefore my bench top is 1 1/4" thick and plenty strong.

We suggest 1" particle board as a minimum by itself. 3/4" plus a metal plate should be adequite.

If you mount it directly to the bench 1" is needed. I have mine mounted on a strong mount and bolted to 3/4" partical board and have absolutely no movement at all.
