The Ohio State Senate has passed the bill and has sent it to Governor Ted Strickland.  The governor's aides say that he is probably going to sign it within two weeks with no changes to the bill.

This law redefines the use of force to defend onself not only in the home, but on the street, in one's car, or in the home or car of another person.  The "affirmative defense" clause is also deleted and the burden of proof will be on the prosecutor, not the defendant.

I just received my Ohio CCW license last Monday (June 2).  I have carried once since then, just to see what it was like while driving in my car.  As the article by Marko Kloos in the September 2007 Blue Press stated, I don't [carry] because I'm looking for a fight, but because I'm looking to be left alone.  I believe, as Mr. Kloos does, that an armed society is a polite society.
