New To Reloading

I am a Newbie...Please be KIND......With the cost of Ammo - I have started looking into Re-loading....But I'm getting so Many Answer's to my Questions from: "It ain't worth the Time you spend doing it"...To: "It's Great if you got the time and an Engineering Degree"........I don't whether to invest in this project or just keep shooting WOLF ????

It seems the biggest Question is ........TIME-TIME-TIME...How long does it take to go from a .45 acp to a .40 s&w caliber...............I've heard 3 hours...........some say buy the entire Toolhead for each ??? How much does that cost - sounds expensive and defeats the purpose of "Reloading" ????

HELP.........Lost - Love shootin but the Costs are hurtin.............

When you initally set up a toolhead for a new caliber, it will probably take 15-30 minutes to set up a toolhead. Once set up, so that you are only swapping complete toolheads, changout time can be as little as 5 minutes, if you aren't changing primer feed sizes and dedicate a powder measure to the toolhead, to a maximum of 20 minutes or so, if you have to swap out the powder measure and readjust it, and convert the primer feed from one size to another. Changeout time is typically not much of a concern, as progressive equipment is usually used to load a large quantity of one caliber before changing to the next.

I suggest that you find the DVD by David Tubbs and Sierra Bullets, I can't recall the title but you will know it when you run across the movie. I think its something like "High Powered Rifle Reloading". It is very informative for the new and old reloader, and he even demonstrates setting up a dillon press. I haven't seen it for a while because i lent it out, every one who is considering reloading should have this DVD first. Good luck, be safe, and you will love reloading as much as shooting.

Thanks.......You were correct..........I was receiving some incorrect info from people who either don't Reload or don't like doing it....

I have Officially entered into the world of Reloading and have my 550b up and running.....

I have had some learning to do......like make sure there is a Primer in the Case before dropping Powder.... :-)

But it's not anything like the Non-Reloading People SAID !!!!!! Not even close !!!!!!!!!!
