I am loading copper plated .45 ACP 200 Gr Hollow Points.  About 5% of the rounds missfeed in 1911.  Less missfeeds when testing with new magazines but still close to 5%.  Tried Kimber and Ruger SR 1911 with similar results.

Rounds come up the feedramp and strike the top of the chamber never fulling leaving the feed lips on the magazines.  Most push the rounds back into the casing.

Neither gun has a problem with plated round nosed or SWC  bullets.  Both guns have several hundred rounds (<1000 rounds)  through them.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

 Norm
