I'm about to start loading 30-06 on an S1050.

I have a tool head that I am dedicating to case prep. I'm thinking the setup will be

- Universal decap die in the sizing station

- Set up swage to remove military crimp in brass

- primer station empty

- powder station empty

- Rapid Trim set up to size/trim ( in powder check station)

- seat station empty

- crimp station empty

The reloading tool head will be set up

- Dillon 30-06 size die backed off to only clean primer pocket and run expander ball

- Swage?

- Prime

- Powder

- Powder check

- Seat

- Remove bell at case mouth (if any)

My questions

1. Do I have the stations correct for case prep?

2. On the load head will I have issues with the expander ball. Will necks need to be lubed in order to not mess with the case sizing?

3. On the loading head what happens at the swage station? Do I need to take the backing rod from the case prep head to prevent having the swage rod push through the primer pocket?

4. My machine is currently set up for .45 ACP. I understand I should be all set with the priming system and the shell plate changing to 30-06. I think I have to change the insert for the casefeeder tube. Will I also need to change the slide that sets the case into the shell plate?

I'll be watching my DVD again before doing this and have been searching videos on the web of changeovers. Any advice learned through experience would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time?
