I am reloading 9mm for the first time and I am having some issues getting the rounds to eject. I am sure there is no issue with the gun because it ejects factory ammo just fine. I am using regular brass, N340 powder 4.7gr and 115FMJ Bullets. The case stays partially in the barrel or it stove pipes.
What am I doing wrong?
I use a 550B with all dillon dies.

Your stated starting load is well under the recommended starting load by Vihtavuori. Your description is purely insufficient energy.

I tried some loads today with the powder at 5.1. Max is 5.4

I am clueless. With 5.1gr of N340 I am having the same issue. I have checked all the dimensions on my loaded rounds and they match my lymans book. The only dimension that is off is the overall length is .002 shorter that the picture.

Are you crimping? I think your headspace is not correct. Take the barrel out of your gun and check the head space. Make sure the cartridge fits flush in the barrel. If it fits make sure the cartridge falls out freely from the barrel. I suggest you buy a case cage if you don't want to disassemble your gun every time to reload.

I found if you are seating to max overall length you are not seating deep enough with lighter bullets my case over all length for 115 grn jhp is about 1.090 from the Lyman # 46 manual. the give these diminsions under the specific bullet wieght and style

Thanks for all the replies. My headspace and crimp seems to be fine. The OAL is the same as factory 115 FMJ's I bumped the powder up to 5.4 and seem to be really close. I think I may shorten the OAL and go to 5.5. That may work. I will keep you posted.
