I was wondering if anyone can tell me where I can find the tolerances for the brass for 45ACP? All the manuals I have list the throat diameter at .473 but the base is .476. I have an inspection gage from Dillion that brass won't fit in if it is anything over .473 but when I measure it, I am at .476 to .478. Wondering how much tolerance I really have. My 1911's do not seem to have a problem shooting anything under the .478, maybe more but I have not tried.

Try this link. It is a good site for 1911 info.

I goofed and posted an incomplete/wrong link. It is
HTTP://WWW.SightM1911.Com/Care/45acp.HTM
Head minimum= .4718, max=.4734
Mouth minimum= .4672, max= .4732 (but .4730 is standard)
other dimension on the website.
