I'm picking up a Henry Big Boy in 45 Colt next week. The question I have is do I use the handgun section of my reloading book for load data? Can the Henry handle hot rounds?
Does anybody have a load that they like and what components (powder, bullets) do you use.
Thanks
Rick

The Henry rifle is a VERY weak design. Do not exceed loads for the Colt SAA revolver. Do not use load data for Ruger Blackhawk or T/C Contenders.

Just a follow up. I talked to the people at Henry and they told me that their Big Boy in 45 can shoot the 300 grain Corbon rounds with no problem.
So I assume that I can load a 250 grain hard cast with 8 grains of W231.
