30 carbine

I was reading somewhere that the 30 carbine, is the 22nd most reloaded cartridge. Why doesn't Dillon offer an adaptor kit for the 550 casefeeder and a die or whatever is needed for the case trimmer. I,m doing my 30 carbine half on and off the 550b but I'd like to increase my speed.

The 30 Carbine case is too skinny and tall to reliably work through the 550 Casefeeder. We tried it, and if it was reliable, we would offer it.
The shortness of the case precludes it's use on our electric trimmer. The way 30 Carbine cases stretch, it would sell well. However, the exhaust port on the trim die is blocked by the toolhead.

With all the new carbines released and sold by CMP, would it not be profitable to modify the Dillon case trimmer and case feeder to handle 30 carbine. I purchased a RCB electric case feeder but I also would purchase the Dillon if it were available.

I use to load both .30 Carbine and .223 on my 550b but after a while I really wanted the ease of a case feeder. I asked and they explained the issue with the skinny cases and so I sold my 550 (for 80% of the current retail price) and got a 650 w/casefeeder. My 550 was a number of years old but in great shape and I actually sold it for more than I originally paid for it.
I'm really glad I moved up to the casefeeder because with the bottlenecked cases I end up running them through the press to process them and then again when I'm actually reloading them. The casefeeder makes processing a snap.
Move up to the 650. You'll be glad you did.

I wish I did start with the 650 but having the 550b only 6 months and all the quick change pistol setups I have it won't be cost effective or me right now.
